So Dave was having just way too much fun tonight at the wheelie/bunny hop/bike polo/night frisbee gig at the Red Bull tent to bother with something as silly as a race report.
By having too much fun of course I mean that he’d taken way too much advantage of the beverages provided by Bishop and his bosses at Cannondale!
So, real quick like.
Team CF is still 20 minutes or so in front. Between Meeks and Kelly they’re posting some pretty respectable times and the team is certainly not going to go quietly into the night even if it is Tim Freakin’ Johnson chasing them.
Johnson though is all after it as well.
We staggered the starts today since it is super tight twisty and fun at Raystown but ain’t no room for passing. Johnson started in wave 4 – 8 minutes behind the leaders. He finished in virtual 5th place on the stage and in an actual 7th. That’s pretty good by itself.
Then figure that he had to pass, oh, 60-70 racers to get there….
Three stages left for Team CF to hang on to this thing. Can they do it? It is going to be close.
